Mickey Mouse Cactus

This image was taken at the Belle Isle Park in Detroit. It was sitting along the corner of the walkway when I had this shot with my D3000 Nikon camera with the 55 - 200 mm zoom lens. It was also taken around 2:37 pm in a building with lights coming out from the roof glass.

I like the form of this cactus because it looks like a Mickey Mouse ears sitting on top of it. This inspired me to take a photo since my kids like Mickey Mouse and the color of it struck me when I pass by the corner.

Notes:
When taking this image with a bright background, make sure your flash is available. I just used flash setting it to a normal i/o and make sure the focus is where the the part of the subject is. To make the background a little blurry, play with the zoom of the lens until you are satisfied.

I cheat a little bit with the color (which most of the photographers do), I used an editing tool and played with the hue and the vibrance option so to make the red will become brighter and green a bit greener.  Do not over do it because it will look unnatural.
