This bird image was taken around 12:25 pm with my Nikon d3000 just right at my front porch. It was a very nice day when I saw this bird staring at me for minutes. With this shot, I used 55-200 mm lens with a max focal lenght. The ISO setting is around 400 and an aperture of 5.6 which is also a maximum for the this type of lens while the shutter speed of 1/160 sec. I did not use a flash on this one since it was taken in the middle of the day but using a flash will give an even nicer effect.

I like this shot because it is simple and I thought that the bird is a really looks gorgeous standing on a brance of a small tree. The redish orange belly really gave me the inspiration to have her picture taken.

Notes:

Taking a shot in the middle of the day really is the best time to take a picture (it is just hot which I really do not like it) especially if you do not want to use a flash. If you have your flash with you, do not hesitate to use it, even it is in the middle of the day. I made sure that I have less movements so that I won't scare the bird away and get a good shot.
